Mountain bikers are in the final stretch of the six-day Breck Epic race through Colorado’s backcountry; the race started Aug. 11. Riders are making their way through mud, snow and scenic views as they start and end each day’s race within the Breckenridge town limits. Riders, who came from more than 20 countries and dozens of states, will cover close to 240 miles and 40,000 vertical feet by the time the race is over. The race is offering a $30,000 purse this year.
