I love tahini and I love energy balls. So why in the hell have I not put the two things together?? Well today changes all of that. And for the first time ever, I’m adding COLLAGEN to my energy balls! I’ve added protein powder in the past, but most protein powders have a handful of ingredients that may want to change up the flavor of these little lovely balls. And we can’t have that. Collagen is unflavored and it’s magical. It’s the only supplement that I’ve kept up with taking every single day ever since I started using it 2 years ago. You know why? Because it’s the only supplement I’ve ever experienced results from.
Do you take collagen yet?? You should. It’s amazing for about a million different reasons, but I mostly love it because it makes my hair and nails grow. Before I started adding collagen to my coffee every morning, my hair NEVER grew. It always felt unhealthy, it never grew past my shoulders, and I had constant breakage. But after 6 months of taking collagen, all of that changed. It’s magic. It’s also suppose to help with cellulite…that’s a lie. But I still love it. And now I have another way to get some extra collagen in. I love these little balls so much.
On a completely different note – my house is officially a construction zone. We started demolition on our master bathroom and it’s a bit of a big job. We are breaking down walls, adding pipes, and moving things all over the place. We are expanding our shower and adding an extra sink to a completely new spot. This means all new everything. New cabinetry, new countertop, new lighting, new tile. And since I work from home, work gets interrupted at all times during the day. Not sure how I’m going to record a podcast episode this week while the floor is being torn up and a plumber is removing a cast iron pipe from our basement. If you have a spare house I could borrow for the next month, that would be greeeeeat.
- Place all ingredients except for the sesame seeds in a food processor and pulse/blend until everything is broken down and well combined, scraping down the sides as need be.
- Place sesame seeds in a bowl. Use a cookie scoop to scoop mixture then press mixture firmly in the cookie scoop. Remove then form ball with hands and roll in the sesame seeds until coated. Repeat until all mixture is gone, about 12-15 energy balls.
- Place in the fridge for 30 minutes or longer to set. Store in fridge in a closed container.
