Don’t like turkey? No worries, these ski resorts are open Thanksgiving

The family gathering together in thanks, the smell of delicious food wafting from the kitchen, the wine flowing from glass to glass — who needs it?

Skip the turkey, ditch the relatives and hit the slopes instead. (I guess you can bring the fam along with you, too.)

Winter Park Resort’s Mary Jane opens this year on Thursday, Nov. 22, also known to some as Thanksgiving. It’s the ski area’s earliest opening since 2010 and its fifth Thanksgiving opening ever.

Not feeling the Mary Jane vibe? Crested Butte, Snowmass and Telluride also have Thanksgiving openings.

If you prefer to #OptOutside on Black Friday, you can also do your skiing at Echo Mountain and Ski Cooper for their respective opening days.
