A wooden climbing gym for bouldering just opened in Loveland

LOVELAND — Wooden Mountain, a climbing gym for bouldering enthusiasts, opened for business Tuesday afternoon.

The 7,500-square-foot facility, which is the only climbing gym in Loveland, has more than 4,000 square feet of wall space with colorful climbing holds arranged in routes of varying difficulty, some of which will change every week.

As a bouldering gym, the tallest routes top out at 15 feet, which means ropes and harnesses aren’t needed. Instead, the gum’s floor is a giant pad.

Wooden Mountain set its grand-opening celebration for 3-8 p.m. Oct. 13, promising on a flier: “bouldering, beer, free stuff.”
